Here’s my first official film review & last weeks film happened to be VANTAGE POINT, well to be honest, this could be the shortest review on this blog!!
Basically, the film tells the story of 8 peoples different views of an assination attempt on the US President…..Each person has their own view-point on what has happened & it takes all 8 for Agent Thomas Barnes (Dennis Quaid) to figure out what has really occurred!!
The disapointing thing about this film is that it could have been so much better, if only the production had been a bit ‘tighter.’ For example, the length of time between 2 explosions seemed to vary between each persons story & damage to the vehicles during the car chase seem to come & go!!
However, the most annoying part of the film was the constant use of ‘rewind’ to reply the same assination attempt from the different views….by view number 5 this had got a bit tedious & to be honest wasn’t really needed. A couple would have been fine as you could quite easily figure out what was going on!!
Overall, I rate Vantage Point as 6.5 out of 10…..it really good have been better, it was almost as like it was tying to hard to be a 2 hour version of 24 – lets just hope they do it better!!
